I was out for a walk this morning (fighting off a few mosquitoes!) and a thought hit me: Most of us have the wrong idea about what it means to be "fit."
I’ll be honest with you—growing up, I was the one trying to escape PE class. I hated it almost as much as math! I used to look at fitness trainers and think, "To look like that, you have to do it full-time. I’m just a regular person."
But curiosity got the best of me. I started exploring, trying everything from the gym to kickboxing. And what I realized is that fitness isn't about "athleisure" or perfect gym bodies. It’s about how you feel in the process.
The 5 Steps to True Physical Wellness (The Wellness Vortex Model)
We often make the mistake of thinking fitness is just "going for a run." In reality, it’s a ladder:

Daily Movement: This is the foundation. Just standing up once an hour and getting your steps in. (Keep an eye out—I’m sending an email this Wednesday with fun ways to hit your step goals!)

Posture: This is crucial. Before we even talk about "exercise," we have to talk about alignment—static, functional, and even emotional posture.

Formal Fitness: Aiming for 150 minutes a week. This includes Resistance Training (essential for your bones, muscles, and longevity) and Cardiovascular health.

Personalization: There is no one-size-fits-all. Your fitness must match your age, your season of life, and even the time of day.

Have Fun: I still don’t like "sweating," but I’ve learned to love how I feel. Don't wait for motivation to show up—generate the feeling through the action.
