This is it, friends! Summer is officially here. With kids out of school, summer travel plans, and routines going out the window, it's easy to feel a bit overwhelmed.
But here's my challenge to all of us:
this is the month that defines your wellness.
By pinpointing your top non-negotiables now and practicing sticking to them (while allowing for flexible methods), I guarantee the rest of your year—especially the holidays—will fall into a rhythm. You'll be set for peak wellness and effectiveness!

Defining Your Wellness Non-Negotiables: The Wellness Vortex Method
So, how do we do this? Let's reflect on the stages of the Wellness Vortex. Foundation > Momentum > Mastery.
"If everything else fails, sit on a strong foundation!"
The key is to stick to a very strong foundation, then gradually upgrade.

Identify Your Most Essential Non-Negotiables: What are the absolute basics? If you couldn't do anything else, what would you still do? The Wellness Vortex offers three foundational non-negotiables:
- Stay Curious: This helps you be more present in the moment, be more present to how you feel. Be aware of your food and movement choices without judgment. Check out this blog post.
- Stay Active: Even if time is tight, intentional activity burns more calories and sparks your creativity to weave in short bursts of movement. Check out for 'active' ideas.

Tap into Your Morning Routine: How you start your day sets the tone for your day and your life. Begin your day before everyone else jumps in with their demands, even if it's just six minutes.
- Quiet & Curious: Close your eyes, stay quiet, and become curious about everything you can hear, smell, and feel.
- Journal (if you have a minute): Journaling helps you set your daily intentions. Start with the page 68 of "My Power Journal."
- Water & Movement: Whether you have 10 seconds or 30 minutes, find a way to move your body. Check out the Proper Posture Course, our group classes, personal and on-demand fitness training here.

Calm Your Mind During the Day: Find moments to calm your mind, whether it's your routine meditation or simply relaxing on demand by engaging your senses during daily activities. Embrace the colors through your child's eyes, fall in love with someone's voice, or notice the intricate details of leaves you've never truly seen before. My friends, that's the true activation of love.
From this point, you can upgrade further.
But remember, self-care is non-negotiable, methods are flexible.
The vortex isn't a destination; it's a journey.
If you wake up tired one day, that's completely alright.
Stick to your most foundational basics, and the flow of the day will lift you up the vortex.
The most essential thing is to consistently stick to your self-care non-negotiables.
