Feel into Freedom
I'm revisiting a powerful message from my archives that feels more relevant than ever this year. It's all about a concept I call gut wisdom โ that innate intelligence residing within you, your natural intuition. It's the quiet knowing that guides your deepest truths.
We live in a world that often teaches us to outsource our intuition, to doubt our inner knowing. But the truth is, you are your own best health expert. You are the ultimate authority on what your body, mind, and spirit truly need. When we learn to tap into this gut wisdom, we unlock profound self-care. Ever heard "Listen to your gut?" That's precisely what we're talking about!
Would you like to reconnect with your body's profound wisdom? I call it Releasing Personal Power. Let's begin.
Step 1. Listen & Breathe: Accessing Your Optimal Healing State
Healing flourishes in a relaxed state. Using your breath, we can access this optimal healing relaxation โ your genius, your loving intelligence, where better decisions emerge. We'll use the Ujayi breath (it sounds like the ocean or a soft Darth Vader breath):

Close your eyes and take a comfortable, tall seat. Relax your face, softening your forehead and scalp.

Place both hands on your belly. Slowly take a deep, full breath in, filling your lungs and lifting your chest. Let your shoulders soften down.

At the top of your breath, pause briefly.

Now, slowly and with control, exhale through your nose.

Continue this cycling breath. Notice if your breath gets stuck, and where. What sensation is there?

Trust whatever comes to mind. What wants to be healed?

Keeping your eyes closed, place one hand on the place in your body that feels tight. As you exhale, imagine releasing that tension.

Breathe into that tight spot, creating cleansing spaciousness. Continue for about 10 deep breaths (approx. 2 minutes).
Step 2. Feel: Uncovering Your Body's Story
Now, focus your awareness on that spot.

What thoughts surface when you concentrate there? What's the story behind that pain or tension?

How has it impacted your quality of life? What role does it play in how you identify yourself?

If that tension were an emotion, what would it be? Anger? Frustration? Rejection? Disappointment? Keep breathing.
Research shows strong emotions alter our biochemistry. Simply put, your "biography" or story creates your biology. What story do you identify with โ a wound or an empowering one? Chronic fear or stress slows metabolism, increases depression, and impacts overall well-being.
Bring your awareness back to your breath. If you can, focus gently on the spot between your eyes. Your thoughts create your life's ambiance. Inhale fresh thoughts and possibilities; exhale self-judgment, your inner critic, and thoughts that no longer serve you.
Step 3. Reflect & Release
When you're ready, slowly open your eyes.

Write down anything that surfaced for you.

What negative thoughts, if any, hold you back from living fully or from truly loving yourself and your body?
Food for Thought: Body Tension & Life Areas
The body often whispers what the mind won't say. Here's an offering to consider if you feel tension in certain areas โ it might signal where you feel stuck in life:

Arm Pain: What am I holding onto or embracing that needs to be released?

Back Pain: Who or what is causing me to bear an undue burden?

Digestive Problems: What ideas, beliefs, or experiences am I having trouble digesting?

Eye Pain/Problems: What needs to be seen that Iโve ignored?

Fatigue: What in life is wearing me out and making me sleep or shut off?

Hearing/Ear Infections: What am I not hearing that must be heard?

Leg Pain/Cramps: In what ways am I not standing on my own two legs?

Lung Problems/Shortness of Breath: How am I struggling to breathe in life and experience?
-
Neck Pain: Who or what is being a pain in the neck?

Ovarian Problems: What am I longing to create that I havenโt, or what have I created in my life that I wish to move away from?

Being Overweight/Underweight: (Consider fears/protection vs. boundaries/development)

Throat Problems: What am I not speaking the truth about?
